NW HipHop Top 3 #1

Washington state has so many undiscovered artists striving to make something of their life whether it be through music, wtiting, painting, dancing or any other art form. Maybe it’s the everlasting green or the bipolar weather that fills our state. No matter what the cause there is an abundance of inspiration dying to be unleashed.  Here’s 3 people you currently need to watch out for:

Drumatic

Drumatic’s music takes on an old school hip hop feel with a twist. His newest project “Headcase” has several surprises. Drumatic showcases an abundance of artists by featuring them throughout the CD. The level of lyricism, music and production quality is phenomenal. At Drumatic’s shows you can expect three things; he WON’T rap over his own background vocals, he’ll give you a clean delivery and you’ll hear hip hop like you’ve never heard it before.  Check him out HERE and here.

Arie

Arie brings to the table a level of extremely fast lyricism; a unique twist of being influenced by Tech N9ne and Green Day.  In 2011 he put out a mixtape titled “Vent” with two other members of the group, I.V League. Since going solo there has been a huge change in his lyrics; which went from party music to real, heartfelt verses that are bound to give you a chill. After coming back from a 2 year break, Arie performed in June and had the crowd impressed and wanting more. They especially loved seeing the collaboration between him and S.O.S who sang a couple hooks and had a verse with Arie. Be on the lookout for Arie’s upcoming mixtape.

Opus Dei

It’s guaranteed you’ve never seen or heard anyone like Opus Dei. With a crisp and clean sound, he delivers vocals unlike any other.  The lyrics that Opus Dei spits are creatively brilliant showing off his flair for originality. On stage his presence and charisma are only part of what makes him a force to be reckoned with.  He can turn non hip hop lovers into instant fans when he performs.  He’ll have the men with their hands up giggin’ out and the ladies swooning left and right to the sounds of real rap. Don’t miss a chance to see Opus Dei live on stage. Be sure to listen HERE!

Stay tuned for the next top 3 NorthWest up and coming artists.
